Educational Programs at Wild Carrot FarmAgricultural literacy, understanding our link to the earth's bounty, knowing where our food comes from and how it is grown is so very important for children today because:
Our farm is a fun, friendly, safe, and peaceful place.
Please note: As our farm has grown (10 acres under cultivation), we have found it more and more difficult to find the time to conduct educational programs at the farm and in schools. We are in the process of establishing the Wild Carrot Farm Seed to School Corp., which will be an IRS 501(C)(3) tax-exempt corporation. Through this entity, we can attract tax-deductible contributions and educational grants and will hire a Farm Education Coordinator to conduct all our programs. We will be teaching many children where their food comes from, how to grow, harvest, store it, determine nutritional value, and of course, how to cook it and eat healthy. In the"off-season", we will offer cooking and nutrition classes for high school and college students and adults.
